Private Vault Issue Reports

Private Vault includes an optional Report Issue feature. Nothing is submitted unless you complete the report form and select Submit Report.

A submitted report may contain the subject, description, reproduction steps, Private Vault version, Windows version, .NET version, and other technical information displayed in the report window.

Private Vault does not automatically include master passwords, vault names, category names, stored filenames, vault contents, decrypted files, or local file paths in issue reports.

Reports are transmitted securely to MaskedNinja.Net and stored so they can be reviewed, investigated, and resolved. A one-way hash derived from connection information is stored with the report to enforce submission limits and prevent abuse. The raw IP address is not stored in the Private Vault reports database, although standard web-server or hosting logs may record normal connection information.

Reports are retained only as long as reasonably needed for support, security, troubleshooting, and development purposes and may be deleted from the MaskedNinja.Net administration system.

The Report Issue feature requires an internet connection. Private Vault's vault-management features continue to work normally if a report cannot be submitted.
